THE PALM DESERT SCENE
DESIGNER + MAKER
During the early 90’s, as the sun set in the isolated desert land on the outskirts of southern California, bands immerged from the darkness. They rigged up generators, lit joints and began creating free form trance-like music. A blend of psychedelic rock, snarling heavy metal, and hardcore punk. What emerged from these nocturnal sessions was Desert Rock.
The collection was heavily influenced by this scene, as well as colour, print and silhouette found from research into Palm Springs during the 50’s and 60’s, the summer resort for the rich and famous.

THE GREEN ROOM
ART DIRECTION
The location for the lookbook shoot - a warehouse recording studio in east London. My aim was to capture the feeling of a green room. That effortless bohemian backstage cool. Cold brick walls and battered leather sofas, the perfectly matched mismatch of old faded afghan rugs, mandalas, metallic drum kits and endless snaking cables.
We shot on film. The flash allowing for the perfect level of exposure to emphasise the colour, print and texture of the clothes whilst giving that perfect gritty green room feel.
